PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nano-tube gas sensor comprising a single layer carbon nano-tube constituted so that a network structure not composed of a large number of flocculated bundles but composed of fine bundles with a diameter of about 5 nm or below in a state of mutual separation one by one and capable of developing gas detection characteristics markedly enhanced in sensitivity brought about by a nanometer size. SOLUTION: The gas sensor has the single layer carbon nano-tube as a gas-sensitive material and, as the single layer carbon nano-tube, a single layer carbon nano-tube aggregate obtained by the baking treatment of a hydroxypropyl cellulose membrane containing the single layer carbon nano-tube is used.
