PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersing agent giving a pigment dispersion liquid having excellent low-temperature stability and suppressed degradation in storage and to provide a coloring composition for a color filter especially having excellent low-temperature stability and suppressed degradation in storage. SOLUTION: The polymer pigment dispersing agent is composed of a polyethyleneimine main chain having a weight-average molecular weight of 100-20,000 and a graft chain bonded to the main chain, wherein the graft chain is a low-crystalline polyalkanoic acid ester oxyacid residue having a weight-average molecular weight of 500-20,000 and bonded to the main chain through an amide bond, and the number of the graft chains is 1-20 per one molecule.
