<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a currently used image forming apparatus and an alternative apparatus from being confused with each other, and then allowing either one of them to normally operate. <P>SOLUTION: Various apparatus data including model information and configuration information is stored in a detachable memory card. When an image forming apparatus A has a malfunction, the memory card is to be inserted to an alternative image forming apparatus B. The image forming apparatus B boots itself only when the memory card the data of which is stored by another image forming apparatus in the same model is inserted. The booting is controlled while judging whether or not the data stored in the memory card is one stored by a storing section of another image forming apparatus, checking conformity of a file name of the data stored in the memory card, or checking conformity of specific tag data embedded in the data stored in the memory card. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
