<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film in which adhesion of an alignment layer and a coating layer to each other is improved, in the optical film including the coating layer obtained by coating the alignment layer obtained by rubbing treatment of a film for the alignment layer with a polymer. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film includes the alignment layer containing a polyamic acid or polyimide containing a structural unit originating from a compound containing at least two amino groups and at least one olefinically unsaturated bond in a molecule, and a coating layer formed by coating the alignment layer with a composition containing polymerizable liquid crystal molecules and polymerizing the liquid crystal molecules, and is characterized in that the coating layer is a birefringent layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
