<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing for chromatographic column capable of rapidly controlling the properties of a fixed phase, and to provide a chromatographic column. <P>SOLUTION: In the chromatographic column 10, a column cylinder 12 comprising glass, or the like, is filled with the column packing 1 and a coil 11 is wound around the column cylinder 12. At least magnetic fine particles and the temperature responsive polymer layer formed to the peripheries of them are provided to the column packing 1. For example, the spherical magnetic fine particles are covered with the temperature-responsive polymer layer. Furthermore, at least magnetic fine particles are covered with a silica-based substance, and this silica-based substance may be covered with the temperature-responsive polymer layer.
