PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precursor fiber for carbon fiber prepared by spinning a flame retardant polymer, and a carbon fiber having higher performance by suppressing intermonofilament adhesion during each heat treatment. SOLUTION: The precursor fiber for carbon fiber preferable for obtaining a high performance carbon fiber comprises a flame retardant polymer having a PAN skeleton as a constituent component, contains silicon in the range of 0.01-5 wt.% per fiber weight, and suppresses the intermonofilament adhesion in heat treatment such as drying, drawing and the like in a spinning process, a flame proofing and a carbonization process. A method for producing the precursor fiber and a method for producing the carbon fiber using the precursor fiber are also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
