PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing an alkaline developing waste liquid by which gelation and generation of sludge is prevented in a neutralizing process of the alkaline developing waste liquid for a photosensitive planographic printing plate material and the amount of the developing waste liquid is reduced. SOLUTION: The method for processing an alkaline developing waste liquid is characterized in that after at least one of carbonates and hydrogencarbonates is added to an alkaline developing waste liquid for a photosensitive planographic printing plate material, an acidic solution is further added to control the pH of the alkaline developing waste liquid to a range of from 10.0 to 10.5.
