<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method which decide whether exposure for one original is finished, decide whether refreshing operation to forcibly consume toner is performed, decide on the content of the refreshing operation and perform refreshing operation according to the content decided, and to provide an image forming method, a program and a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: When the finish of exposure for one original with 14Bk laser beam is detected, a printing rate is read in from a write-in control part and stored in a RAM 23. Whether the average printing rate of past N sheets is less than a printing rate of 0.85%, at which a deteriorating phenomenon does not occur is decided, and whether toner residual amount is equal to or smaller than Mg is decided. When it is decided that the toner residual amount is equal to or smaller than Mg, toner refreshing operation is performed by totally exposing the area; (paper area)×(average printing rate-0.85)*N (where that a paper interval is set as an upper limit in sub-scanning length). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
