<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accommodating structure for an instrument panel of a vehicle equipped with: a glove box 3 installed in the instrument panel 1 and having an accommodating space 2 for accommodating books (regular size articles) in various kinds having different sizes; and a recess 10 provided above the glove box 3, having an opening 10a on the cabin side, and arranged in communication to the space 2 via a communication hole 11, wherein an air bag 7 during or after inflation and spread into the cabin from the oversurface of the instrument panel 1 when the vehicle has gone into collision, is prevented from interfering with the books accommodated in such a condition as straddling over the space 2 and the recess 10. <P>SOLUTION: The length across the vehicle width (in the longitudinal direction) of the communication hole 11 is made greater than the width of an A4-size book (prescribed size) and smaller than the width of a B4-size book one rank up the prescribed size, so that only books having the prescribed size or smaller are allowed to pass into the communication hole 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
