<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint input device for configuring an accurate fingerprint image from a slice image, and suppressing unnecessary power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: In this fingerprint input device using a line fingerprint sensor, a computer has: a pixel output average value calculation module calculating an pixel output average value from an output value of each pixel of a prescribed row of the slice image; a pixel output sequence extraction module extracting a pixel output sequence wherein the output value of each the pixel of the prescribed row of the slice image is arranged in order from the head; and a finger presence decision module obtaining a frequency crossing the pixel output average value and an interval therebetween as sequentially searching the sequence from the head of the pixel output sequence, and deciding whether a finger exists on the line fingerprint sensor based thereon. Slice image acquisition processing is performed when it is decided that the finger exists on the line fingerprint sensor, and the slice image acquisition processing is stopped when it is decided that the finger does not exist, and the slice image acquisition processing is performed again after a prescribed time elapses. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
