<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of attaining energy saving and comfortable air-conditioning by surely comprehending the position of a person in a room, limiting to an area in which the person is present, to determine the right and left directions of air to avoid waste, and changing the degree of air-conditioning according to the activity amount of the person in the area to be air-conditioned. <P>SOLUTION: The area to be air-conditioned is divided into a plurality of areas by a plurality of human body detecting sensors, and when the plurality of human body sensors detect the presence of persons in at least two areas out of the plurality of areas, the angles of the right and left blades of an indoor unit are fixed to these two areas for a predetermined time.
