#CMT# #/CMT# The splitter (1) has a body (2) enclosing an air plenum chamber (12) that is supplied in air by an opening (9). Intake conduits (6) connect the chamber to each of two cylinders (14). A volume of the chamber is defined by a ductile envelope (13). The ductile envelope is maintained by a movable element (3) i.e. hollow arm, under the action of an activation unit such that the movement of the movable element modifies the volume of the chamber, where the activation element is constituted of an electrical motor (4), a drive pinion (5) and a shaft (8). The envelope is made of fluorocarbon elastomers. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Air intake splitter for an internal combustion engine. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The ductile envelope is maintained by the movable element under the action of the activation unit such that the movement of the movable element modifies the volume of the chamber, thus allowing the air intake splitter to have a variable volume in a simple manner, and hence maximizing the phenomenon of the acoustic overheating. The air intake splitter optimizes the volumetric output of the internal combustion engine. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows an overall perspective view of an air intake splitter. 1 : Air intake splitter 2 : Body 3 : Movable element 4 : Electrical motor 5 : Drive pinion 6 : Intake conduits 8 : Shaft 9 : Opening 12 : Air plenum chamber 13 : Ductile envelope 14 : Cylinders. |
