INTERFEROMETER, DEMODULATOR AND SPLITTING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interferometer capable of reducing polarization dependency (PDFS) resulting from incompleteness of a splitting element, a demodulator equipped with the interferometer, and a splitting element used for the interferometer.

SOLUTION: The interferometer 1 includes a beam splitter 11 formed by forming a splitting film 11b on a transparent substrate 11a and splitting incident light L0 into split light beams L1 and L2; right-angle prism mirrors 12 and 13 reflecting the split light beams L1 and L2 toward the beam splitter 14; and a beam splitter 14 formed by forming a splitting film 14b on a transparent substrate 14a and causing interference between the first and second split beams. The beam splitter 14 is positioned such that a positional relationship between the transparent substrate 14a and a splitting film 14b with respect to the split light beam L1 is opposite to a positional relationship between the transparent member 11a and splitting film 11b of the beam splitter 11 with respect to the incident light L0.
