A device (1) for raising and supporting a quadruped animal in an upright position is disclosed. The device has a frame comprised of elongate members (2a-c) that meet at an apex (3), a means (13) for engaging and supporting the animal, such as a hip clamp, hip lifter, or cow sling, and lifting means (10c) capable of raising and lowering the engaging means.
