PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical film that can prevent an influence on alignment of liquid crystal on a rubbing processing surface as much as possible by winding a long plastic film after rubbing processing, the optical film, and liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: A peeling film G is stuck onto the rubbing processing surface of the long plastic film F after the rubbing processing and before a stage of applying liquid crystal molecules. The peeling film G at this time has a projection portion formed of an adhesive tape G2 on the surface on the opposite side to the surface facing the rubbing processing surface. Then A stack H of the long plastic film F and peeling film G is wound to form a roll body H'. At this time, the stack H is wound in a state in which a projection portion of the peeling film G is abutted on the reverse surface (the surface on the opposite side to the rubbing processing surface) of the long plastic film F.
