<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly compress only an area highly related to a retrieval query in a document for displaying the area and to reduce risk of a browsing failure. <P>SOLUTION: For displaying a partial area highly related to a retrieval key, the document is divided into partial areas (blocks), and retrieval is carried out by block unit for generating feature vector having the degree of feature from a set of blocks of a retrieval result. A block highly similar to the feature vector is additionally displayed. For generating a label showing content of a non-display block, the sum of the degree of character feature of the display block and the degree of feature of the non-display block is used as the degree of importance, and a label with the high degree of importance is displayed as the label of the non-display block for each tag representing a character string or the type of the character string. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
