<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease manufacturing stages of an image display device used for an image display device, and to improve picture quality. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 150 is an active matrix type TFT liquid crystal panel having a lower polarizing plate 135, a lower glass substrate 130, a liquid crystal layer 125, an upper glass substrate 115, a CF barrier 110, and an upper polarizing plate 105. The CF barrier 110 has a light shield portion 111 and a plurality of opening portions 112. At each opening portion 112 of the CF barrier 110, a color filter 120 of one of three colors R, G, and B is disposed. Consequently, variance in layer thickness between a pixel electrode substrate and a common electrode substrate can be suppressed, and unevenness of a voltage applied to a sub-pixel can be suppressed. Further, a parallax barrier and the color filter can be formed in the same manufacturing stage, so the manufacture can be facilitated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
