PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "navigation device" for improving the operability and convenience, and retrieving a facility of the same genre as the present position facility near the position where one's own vehicle stops. SOLUTION: This navigation device includes a detecting means for detecting the own vehicle position, a storing means for storing the road map data having facility data including at least positional information and genre information, a stop condition determining section 100 for determining whether it stops according to a predetermined condition, a present position facility determining section 120 for determining the present position facility near the detected own vehicle position with reference to the road map data, a comparing section 138 for comparing the stopping time of the own vehicle and a threshold, and an input button display section 140 for displaying an input button for retrieving a peripheral facility of the same genre as the determined present position facility when the stopping time does not exceed the threshold.
