DEVICE FOR DISTRIBUTING FLOWABLE ADDITIVE IN EXHAUST GAS SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve distribution of an additive into exhaust gas and to increase the evaporation amount of the additive.

SOLUTION: Eight gas guide vanes 8 are provided in total and are uniformly arranged around a longitudinal axis II of an exhaust gas mixing tube 2. The gas guide vanes 8 of a swirl generating device 7 have pointed parts 9 formed at ends at the downstream side of exhaust gas flow. Tip ends 10 of the pointed parts 9 face a direction I of the approximate exhaust gas flow. The plurality of pointed parts 9 preferably have a length up to 10 mm and formed at an interval of 4-6 mm. The ratio of the length to the width of the guide vanes 8 is preferably about 1.5:1-2:1. The cross section of the mixing tube 2 can be closed with a desired size and at the same time, back pressure can be controlled to an allowable level.
