PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device provided with a source electrode or a drain electrode having high conductivity to prevent oxidation of wiring material or the like by forming an oxide covering film ensuring higher contact with a semiconductor layer or a pixel electrode, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same device. SOLUTION: In a TFT electrode on a TFT substrate constituting the liquid crystal display device, the source electrode or drain electrode is characterized in forming of an oxide covering a layer that is mainly formed of copper.
