<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device such as a printer which realizes a long life mode ensuring improved actions to extend the life of the printing device or consumables as a whole. <P>SOLUTION: When printing data is held in a reception buffer, the printing device judges the condition of consumables of the printing device. When judging that the condition of the consumables is not satisfactory, the printing device judges processing conditions of the printing device. When judging that printing can be immediately performed on the basis of the processing conditions, the printing device executes processing in the long life mode and lengthens the life of the printing device and the consumables as a whole by collectively printing a plurality of pages of the printing data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
