<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic heater excelling in the contact reliability of an electrode pad with a contact metal part. <P>SOLUTION: This ceramic heater 1 is built into a gas sensor 3 for detecting the concentration of a specific gas in a measured gas. This ceramic heater 1 comprises a heater base material 10 made of ceramics, a heating unit formed within the base material 10, and the electrode pad 11 contacting with the contact metal part 2 connected to an external lead 36.
