<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a gate-type antenna to speedily and accurately read information of a radio tag passing through a space between two gate antennas and to quicken operation of a function changing phases of antennas. <P>SOLUTION: A wireless reader includes a detection unit for detecting that a reading unit 1000B can not decode a reception signal on a predetermined condition.
