PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly assemble a balancer device without enlarging an engine. SOLUTION: A first balancer device 24 is stored between a first end wall 11a on one end side of a cam shaft 15 in a cylinder block 11 of a V-shaped engine E and a chain case 23, and a second balancer device 32 is stored between a second end wall 11b on the other end side of the cam shaft in the cylinder block 11 of the V-shaped engine E and a rear cover. First and second balancer shafts 27, 35 are driven at both ends of the cam shaft 15 through first and second driving gears 25, 33 and first and second driven gears 26, 34. As compared with a case that the first and second balancer devices 24, 32 have one common long balancer shaft, a space for disposing the balancer shaft is reduced, and the whole of the V-shaped engine E can be downsized. Furthermore, members such as a bracket for supporting the balancer shaft or a bearing are decreased to save cost or reduce weight. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
