PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top open type paper carton for opening a top face panel which has no possibility of for a hand being caught when the hand is inserted for taking out the content. SOLUTION: The paper carton has two lines of breaking lines L<SB>1</SB>and L<SB>2</SB>for opening consisting of a plurality of continuous cut-off blades provided on the top face panel 14 and a flap panel 15, and a knob part on the end part of the flap panel 15 so as to form an opening part with the two lines of the breaking lines. The breaking lines L<SB>2</SB>of the top face panel are formed in a narrowing direction from the front face panel side to the back face panel side, and each cut-off blade constituting the breaking lines L<SB>2</SB>of the top face panel 14 has a shape whose back side has a part curved outward as seen from a breaking forwarding direction. As a taper is made so that the breaking line L<SB>2</SB>of the top face panel 14 is narrowed toward the breaking direction, and the back side faces to the outside seen from each cut-off blade, it is possible to break without generating releasing of the paper, and the paper is prevented from being left protruded in a saw blade-like shape after opening.
