摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an output of a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) by coping with both high proton conductivity and low methanol permeability in a complex electrolyte membrane wherein metal oxide hydrate is distributed into an organic polymer. <P>SOLUTION: In the complex electrolyte membrane made of the metal oxide hydrate having proton conductivity and an organic polymer, the number of hydrated water of the metal oxide hydrate is set up to be 2.7 or more and 10 or less, and/or a particle size of the metal oxide hydrate is set up to be 1 nm or more and 10 nm or less. The complex electrolyte membrane can pull out assumed primary performance of the membrane electrode assembly, both the high proton conductivity and low methanol permeability can be coped in the complex electrolyte membrane, and the MEA with a high power output for a fuel cell can be supplied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
