<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus setting a suitable transfer bias value according to paper size which is actually supplied even when the size of the paper stored in a paper supply part is different from a setting by a paper size setting switch. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a width direction size estimation part 86 for estimating a width direction size in the paper on the basis of temperature difference between temperature sensors 84 and 85 provided at the central part and the end part of a heating body 82 provided to a fixing part 8. A transfer bias setting part 63 carries out variable setting of the transfer bias voltage value on the basis of the width direction size of the paper estimated by the width direction size estimation part when the width direction size of the paper estimated by the width direction size estimation part 86 and the width direction size set for each paper supply part are decided to be different from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
