<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of suppressing the temperature of a motor from exceeding an allowable temperature and becoming high in temperature. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus is an ink jet printer that, when a print job is registered, provides printing objective data corresponding to the registered print job for printing, and forms an image based on the printing objective data on a paper sheet. In this apparatus, the required number of paper sheets Σ to be printed for processing all of the print job on processing the registered print job is calculated (S220). Further, a target conveyance speed Vp is set so that when the motor is driven and Σ pieces of paper sheets are printed, the motor temperature reaches a reference temperature Ts at the completion of printing, from a difference ΔT=Ts-Tn between a reference temperature Ts(<Tp) determined from an upper limit Tp of the allowable temperature of the motor and a current motor temperature Tn, and the remaining number of paper sheets Σ to be printed (S240).
