PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video content player, a video content playback system, and a video content playback method which allow an index of a desired scene to be specified readily, from a video content to which a plurality of kinds of indexes have been given. SOLUTION: The video content player includes a playback control part 1 which acquires and plays back video content; a GUI generation part 122 which acquires an index information type of the video content being played back and generates information to be displayed on a display device 40; and a seeking control part 123, which switches the index information type of the video content being displayed, when an index information type switching indication is input and seeks the video content, on the basis of the index of an index information type selected in the video content being played back, when a seeking indication is input.
