PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jack solving inclination of a plug caused at the time of plug insertion by a long notch portion provided on a peripheral wall of a plug insertion hole and improving contact reliability. SOLUTION: The jack includes a housing 2 provided with a plug insertion hole 1, contact pieces or the like arranged to face the inside of the plug insertion hole 1, and a metal plate portion (metal plate) 10 arranged in the front of a notch portion 9 of a peripheral wall 1a of the plug insertion hole 1 and leading a plug p inserted in the plug insertion hole 1 to advance straight. The metal plate portion 10 is arranged parallel to a mounting strip portion 3a of a tip spring 3 arranged in a mounting space 11 of a back side of the housing 2, and has a constitution of connecting lower ends with a bottom plate portion 3e, and is also arranged at a front side in the vicinity of a lower portion of a first sleeve spring 6 arranged in the notch portion 9, namely, at a foremost portion of a lower portion side of the notch portion 9 so as to be parallel to an axis center of the plug insertion hole 1. The metal plate portion 10 has a leading piece 10a at the top end thereof and, at an intermediate portion, a plug holding spring 10c provided with a bulged portion 10c1 at the top end thereof.
