VALUE DOCUMENT COMPRISING A SECURITY ELEMENT

The value document has a safety unit (2) on a surface, where the safety unit has a magnetic layer (25) for storing machine readable information, and a reflecting, non-magnetizable metal layer (23). The metal layer is arranged regarding the surface of the value document above the magnetic layer. The magnetic layer is formed out in the form of a strip. The magnetic layer is overlapping an area of the metal layer transverse to a longitudinal direction of the strip and is partitioned into two areas that are separated galvanically from each other. An independent claim is also included for a transfer foil, in particular hot embossing foil for making a value document.
