The thread chaser device 1 includes an elongated member 2. A coupling mechanism 8 is formed at one end 2b of the member. A thread cutting device 6 is formed at the other end 2a of the member and is spaced from the coupling mechanism. The elongated member may define an internal bore 4 located between the coupling mechanism and the thread cutting device. In one embodiment the thread chaser device may be at least two inches long and have a thin walled construction. The bore may closely receive a stud to maintain the angular orientation of the thread chaser relative to the stud. The thread chaser may be part of a kit of thread chasers having an elongated member, coupling mechanism and thread cutting device. |
