An electrically powered lawn mower may be fitted with a cable storage drum or reel having a removable top cover 5 which is mounted on two points 1 which are affixed to the handles of said mower, see figure 1. A cable 7 passes in or out of said drum via an opening 4 and thence through a plurality of brush units 2 which are mounted on a flexible guide 8 to allow the brush units to follow the direction of the cord. Said guide may be attached to a pivotable handle 3. Said brush units act to clean the cable removing any debris therefrom. The storage drum may be fitted with a spring to bias the cable putting a tension on it causing it to retract. A spring biased clip may be attached to the cable, see figure 3, said clip may have a pair of spring biased jaws that may be attached to a fixed object such as a door. The clip may be positioned so that no tensile force is exerted on the interface of a 3 pin plug and socket to cause the plug to be withdrawn. |
