An apparatus for estimating channel in wireless communications system supporting OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) or OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) is provided to effectively perform estimation of a signal of an uplink PUSC(Partial Usage of Subchannels) mode transmitted to a high-level MCS(Modulation and Coding Scheme) under a slow moving environment in a base station. An apparatus for estimating channel in wireless communications system comprises a FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) part(510) and a channel estimator(540). The FFT part converts a received signal of a time domain into a received signal of a frequency domain. The channel estimator extracts pilots from the received signal of the frequency domain, and estimates channel as a tile unit using extracted pilots. The channel estimator copies a channel estimate value about the pilot within the tile in symbols positioned on a subcarrier index like the pilot, and performs interpolation using copied symbols.
