Disclosed is a dendritic polyester containing at least one constituent unit selected from an aromatic oxycarbonyl unit (P), an aromatic and/or aliphatic dioxy unit (Q) and an aromatic dicarboxy unit (R), and a tri-or more-functional organic residue (B). In this dendritic polyester, the content of (B) relative to the total monomers constituting the dendritic polyester is within the range of 7.5-50 mol%. When this dendritic polyester is blended in a thermoplastic resin, the resin can be remarkably improved in thin-wall fluidity, rigidity, gas barrier properties and the like.
