The method involves providing logical segments (100, 150), where the segment (100) is identified as an active logical segment. Data (116 `, 301) are stored in the active logical segment, and reorganization of a memory device is accomplished. The segment (150) is identified as a new active logical segment, and data (110 `-116`, 118`) stored in the segment (100) are transferred into the segment (150). Data (301-305) from an operating memory device (300) is stored in the segment (150), if the data (301-305) does not correspond with the appropriate data (110 `-116`, 118`) in the segment (100). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an arithmetic and logic unit for the operation of a memory device (2) a computer and/or microprocessor program product with program code units, which are stored on machine and/or computer-readable data medium to accomplish steps of a method for operating a memory device. |
