A container of a substantially bag, pouch or wallet shape, Fig 1, for receiving and storing a lighted cigarette or part thereof may be opened and closed via a zip, press stud or Velcro. When closed said container is substantially airtight and thus extinguishes any burning contents placed therein. The container may be filled with a removable extinguishing agent such as wire or steel wool. The container may be made from a fire retardant material which may a metal or foil. A stone resin liner may be provided. The container may be perfumed.
