A laundry dryer and method for controlling the same is provided to dry cloth under optimal condition base on outdoor weather or cloth information, and thus reduce the possibility of damage to cloth due to direct ray of sunlight or high temperature. A cloth dry apparatus comprises a case(103), a hanger(110), one or more hot air feeding units(117), and controller. The case is formed to be away from the top of a cloth treating device. The hot air feeding units supply hot air into the case. The controller controls the operation of the hot air feeding unit. The hanger is housed inside the case. The hanger supports cloth.
