<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplex (WDM) optical transmission device that multiplexes, transmits, demultiplexes, and detect the signals while suppressing inter-code interferences between one-bit or 1-symbol signals and also suppressing the interference disturbance between wavelength channels. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission side sends optical pulses out through an optical filter in each channel and a reception side receives and detects the light signal through the optical filter; and frequency intervals of the channels is 1 to 3 times as large as a transmission rate F while FT = 1, where T is the pulse intervals (second) of respective optical pulse trains and F is the transmission rate (bit/second) of the signal.
