<p>The present invention relates to a retractable and extendable awning, comprising a stationary support member, a movable member and at least one pivotable arm connected between the support and the movable member, a roller arranged at the support member and mounted for rotation, a fabric cloth for winding about and unwinding from the roller and connected to the movable member, wherein the support member is provided with at least an electric motor for driving the roller so as to move the movable member between a retracted and extended position, the electric motor being connected to or integrated with a controller for controlling the motor in response to a control signal received from a weather station arranged inside the movable member, wherein the weather station comprises at least one accelerometer for determining the acceleration of the movable member in two or three directions.</p> |
