A digital broadcasting signal receiver and a method thereof are provided to improve the efficiency of the receiver, and offer a DCC(Directed Channel Change) service of a broadcasting to the users by managing version of a DCCT(Directed Channel Change Table), and DCCSCT(Directed Channel Change Selection Code Table) through MGT(Master Guide Table). A digital broadcasting signal receiver comprises a demodulator(80), and demultiplexer(30). The demodulatror demodulates a broadcasting signal which contains STT(System Time Table) containing time information, VCT(Virtual Channel Table) which contains channel information, and MGT(Master Guide Table) which includes one or more version information of DCCT(Directed Channel Change Table). The DCCT includes version information for the VCT, and information of a channel to be changed. The demultiplexer classifies video packet which is included to the broadcasting signal based on the video OID in the VDT, and provides video service. |
