A smart sensor apparatus and a driving method using the same are provided to determine emergency situation based on sensing data and to execute emergency control about facility. A mobile communications module manages the wireless telecommunication with a facility management system at a remote place through mobile network. A controller(200) is connected in parallel with a plurality of sensors and receives sensing data from a plurality of sensors. The controller checks whether each sensor is over critical value. If so, the controller notifies a facility management system about emergency through an emergency mobile communications module.
