A method for controlling a home network device using an RSS service and an apparatus therefor are provided to control the home network device at a remote place without additionally defining a protocol. A command reading part(210) periodically connects an RSS server and reads out the control command about one or more home network device. A controller(220) controls one or more home network device based on the read control command. The control command is analyzed whether the control command is about controlling the home network device. A message informs a user about controlling at least one home network device according to the control command.
