A digital broadcasting signal receiver and a method thereof are provided to improve the efficiency of the receiver, and offer a DCC(Directed Channel Change) service of a broadcasting to the users by managing version of a DCCT(Directed Channel Change Table), and DCCSCT(Directed Channel Change Selection Code Table) through MGT(Master Guide Table). A digital broadcasting signal receiver comprises a demodulator(80), and demultiplexer(30). The demodulator demodulates a broadcasting signal which contains STT(System Time Table) containing time information, VCT(Virtual Channel Table) which contains channel information, and MGT(Master Guide Table) which includes one or more version information of DCCT(Directed Channel Change Table). The DCCSCT includes version information for the VCT, and has a category code which has a value among 32 numbers, and increase the number by the change of a table. The demultiplexer classifies video packet which is included to the broadcasting signal based on the video OID in the VDT, and provides video service. A decompression module(100) decodes the audio data included in the broadcast signal and provides audio service through speaker. |
