A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve a jitter character and secure a stable address discharge time by asymmetrically driving on-time of a data pulse. In a plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof, while one channel among a plurality of data channels is on, the energy recovery, an off state, and the energy are supplied to the remaining channel. A data driving unit includes a data IC(integrated Circuit) and an energy recovery unit. A first terminal of the data IC is connected to a data pulse voltage source. A second terminal of the data IC is connected to the ground. A third terminal is connected to the energy supply and recovery terminals of the energy recovery unit. A fourth terminal is connected to a plurality of output terminals.
