Low Na content zeolite based hydroforming catalysts.. M4-. Has an SiO2/Al2O3 ratio between 3 and 7 and an alkali metal content reduced to 1, pref. 0.7-0.02% wt. by precalcination at 250-450, pref. 325-400 degrees C followed by treatment at 50-120 degrees C with a soln. of an ammonium salt (nitrate) followed by calcination at 450-700, pref. 500-690 degrees C. Pref. the catalyst incorporates 0.1-5 pts. wt. noble metal (Pd, Pt) and 1-35 pts. wt. non-noble metals (W, Mo, Co, Ni) per 100 pts. zeolite. The ammoniacal zeolite may be substituted by a nitrogeneous base (a hydroxylamine, hydrazine, guanidine or alkanolamine) prior to calcination. Pref. 'Y' or 'L' type zeolites are used. |
