A multifilament yarn is made by simultaneously crimping together two or more differently coloured or dyed yarns, separating the crimped yarns, individually entangling the crimped yarns with a compressed turbulent fluid and then plying the resulting yarns together into a strand. The strand, e.g. formed of three polyamide yarns of 1140D and comprising 64 filaments, is not prone to picking when it is processed on a tufting machine.</p> |
