A low altitude radar antenna is provided to search a small plane flying a short or middle distance below an azimuth angle by using high frequency S and C bands. Horizontal array radiation modules(1U1~1Un,1D1~1Dn) are arranged vertically. Transmitting modules(Tx) feed transmitting signals to the horizontal array radiation modules in a transmission period and transmit signals received from the horizontal array radiation modules to a horizontal sum signal/altitude difference signal vertical synthesizer(72) in a receiving period. Receiving modules receive the signals from the horizontal array radiation modules in the receiving period. A transmitting vertical divider(71) divides the transmitting signals of the transmitting modules. The horizontal sum signal/altitude difference signal vertical synthesizer outputs a total horizontal sum signal and an altitude difference signal by synthesizing horizontal sum signals of the horizontal array radiation modules. A horizontal difference signal vertical synthesizer(73) outputs a horizontal difference signal by synthesizing the signals received from the receiving modules. A monitoring module(74) monitors transmission and receiving states of the horizontal array radiation modules.
