A can container having a screw where a joint step of a joined can barrel is formed, wherein opening torque of the cap of the container is reduced. The can container has a hollow cylindrical container body section with an overlap joint (16) on a side face of which the step (15) is formed, and also has a container mouth portion (5) with a screw thread and a curl portion that are formed at the opening end of the container body section. A bottom lid is tightly wound around the lower end of the body section, the cap having a resin sealing liner attached to the inner surface side at the top plate portion of the cap is put on the container opening, and the cap is tightly wound around the container mouth portion to form a screw groove in a skirt portion of the cap so as to match the screw thread. The screw thread is formed, relative to the joint (16), from the upper side to lower side of the overlapped step, in the direction where the cap (7) is opened. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009
