A treating agent or a treating aid for the disease related to pigmentation, and a skin whitening product are provided to reduce the expression and activity of tyrosinase, thereby inhibiting the generation of melanin pigment. A treating agent or a treating aid for the disease related to pigmentation contains the xanthohumol represented by the formula 1 as an effective ingredient to inhibit the generation of melanin. Preferably the xanthohumol inhibit the generation of melanin induced by IBMX in melanoma.
